Amp’d Mobile launching pre-paid service

This is getting to be a crowded industry, which is a good thing:
Amp’d Mobile Inc. plans to launch a pay-as-you go service Wednesday, according to the mobile virtual network operator’s Web site.
[…]
Amp’d Mobile is touting its prepaid offering as “the first pay-as-you-go 3G wireless phone service†and indicated that prepaid customers would have access to full-length music track downloads for 99 cents, 3D games and video downloads, along with the company’s push-to-talk service.
Amp’d Mobile is currently selling two of its three handset for $50 after a $50 instant rebate. The MVNO’s postpaid plans range from $30 to $150 per month with an 18 month contract.
No pricing info as of yet, but hopefully their entry will help to bring about some lower prices in the pre-paid market.
