BlackBerry goes 3G

Research-in-Motion is teaming up with Vodafone of UK for 3G-enabled BlackBerries. The new phones are to be based on the 8700 series.
The 8707v is based on a 312MHz Intel PXA901 processor backed with 16MB of SRAM and 64MB of Flash memory. In addition to 3G connectivity, the handset provides quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS operation, though it’s not clear whether EDGE support is included as it is with regular 8700-series Blackberries. However, it seems the 3G modem is used exclusively for data.
No talk of video-enabled phones, though. And I thought this would be a big plus to business users wanting to videoconference while on-the-move.

I don’t think so. At this point, the operative word is might. But with 3G, a camera sure would be cool to have (for videoconferencing, I mean).

(call me ignorant) but, is that a camera-enabled blackberry? *shudders* perish the thought. not having a camera is one of the things i value about my 8700c
