Entourage comes to your cell phone

I love this show, and it’s fitting that it’s exploring new avenues of content distribution (remember the episode where they all received Sidekicks at the film festival?):
CNN Money is reporting that Cingular, the nation’s current number one wireless carrier and premium cable provider HBO are teaming up to bring mini 4-minute episodes to subscriber phones. The short “mobi-sodes†specifically written for display on mobile devices won’t detract from the network shows, but will extend the story beyond the televised version.
Not for the tight of wallet, viewing Entourage Mobile will cost you the $14.99 for your monthly mobile TV subscription and another $4.99 for the premium HBO upgrade that will make Entourage available.
Expensive as heck if all you’re going to be watching is Entourage, but I’m guessing that Cingular has other decent content as well? Still, even with the steep price it’s good to see shows expanding outward this way.
